Always Follow the Fireworks Code:

BUY FIREWORKS

Don’t drink alcohol if setting off fireworks.

 

Keep fireworks in a closed box.

 

Follow the instructions on each firework.

 

Light them at arm’s length, using a taper.

 

Stand well back.

 

Never go near a firework that has been lit. Even if it hasn’t gone off, it could still explode.

 

Never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them.

 

Always supervise children around fireworks.

 

Light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves.

 

Please be prepared to show proof of age when collecting or having fireworks delivered

 

Keep pets indoors.

 

The Firework Code

Please follow the firework code as well as some other advice designed to help you have a trouble free bonfire party.

 

  1. FireworksPlan your firework display to make it safe and enjoyable.
  2. Keep fireworks in a closed box and use them one at a time.
  3. Read and follow the instructions on each firework using a torch if necessary. (not a match!!!)
  4. Light the firework at arm’s length with a taper and stand well back.
  5. Keep naked flames, including cigarettes, away from fireworks.
  6. Never return to a firework once it has been lit.
  7. Don’t put fireworks in pockets and never throw them.
  8. Direct any rocket fireworks well away from spectators.
  9. Never use paraffin or petrol on a bonfire.
  10. Make sure that the fire is out and surroundings are made safe before leaving.
  11. It would be polite to let neghbours know you are planning a firework party.
  12. Fireworks should not used in any public place
  13. Store fireworks in a dry place but away from combustible materials or sources of heat.
  14. Remember that wind is the enemy of fireworks. Be aware of weather conditions and the enviroment when setting off.
  15. As with wind, extreme dry weather may provide additional fire risks, so please plan accordingly
